A man asked her permission to search the vehicle in the parking lot of the Fishburn United Methodist Church, 1215 Fishburn Road in Hershey on Wednesday around 10:40 a.m.
After a discussion with him, the victim believed he was a police officer, so she agreed to the search and exited the vehicle.
The man searched the entire interior of the vehicle, as well as a black Coach purse and floral medical bag.
The female victim later realized the man stole approximately $200 cash from her wallet inside her purse and 3 candy bars from inside her medical bag.
The man who pulled her over is described as a white man in his late 20’s, 5’9” tall, weighing 175 lbs., buzz-cut hair, no accent, right-handed, and fit/muscular build.
He was wearing a mask, blue surgical gloves, sunglasses with black frames and blue lenses, and a blue baseball hat with a patch that indicated he was with the Derry Township Police Department.
He was also wearing a police uniform including an exterior body armor-style vest, shirt with police patches and duty belt.
He had a holstered handgun, an orange taser and handcuffs.
His vehicle is described as a black or very dark colored 4-door sedan.
The victim is "almost positive it was a pre-2011 style Ford Crown Victoria," police say.
The vehicle had very dark window tinting, interior dash or visor-mounted red and blue emergency lighting, a push bar on the front, and was in clean/good condition, according to police.
The real Derry Township police are asking anyone with information about the identity of this impersonator or who may have witnessed this traffic stop or one like it to contact the department.
The department is also looking for video surveillance in the area that may have captured the incident.
If you spot this man, direct contact is not recommended as he is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone who sees this vehicle and/or suspect or possibly have information about his identity is urged to contact the Derry Township police department at (717) 534-2202, submit a tip through Crimewatch or call 911 if it is an emergency situation.
